Carmelo Anthony‘s ex-wife is the biggest cheerleader of her son. She is either spotted at the courtside alongside her celebrity friends to cheer for Kiyan or on social media to give a shout-out. While the actress wasn’t seen in any photos and clips from her 17-year-old son’s best and latest 40-point performance, her post for him was just on time.

Sharing a post from the Slam High School, La La Anthony added a heart and screaming face emoji which we totally understand. While obviously also being on cloud nine, the retired NBA Champ tried to play it cool and wrote, “I see you champ!” along with the stats on both his Instagram and X handle. Melo was also on the courtside, not only watching his son rake up the numbers but also seemingly mumbling some advice to him.

The 17-year-old scored 40 points, making 15 out of 19 field goals, and shooting 5-of-6 from beyond the arc at the Peach Invitational. Playing for his father’s Team Melo, Kiyan has been phenomenal. He is making quite the noise going into the basketball tournament in the summer of 2024 with the Nike EYBL.

The 4-star Class of 2025 prospect played for Long Island Lutheran High School during the 2023-24 season and for the summer, he dropped 42 and then 35 at NBPA Top 100 camp last month. The excellence sure wouldn’t miss the eyes of an ESPN analyst.

How did Kiyan Anthony do in Nike Eybl?

Kendrick Perkins knows a prodigy when he sees one. And it’s even easier when the aspiring basketball player is delivering an explosive 40-point performance at the age of 17. Kiyan caught the attention of the media veteran and numerous fans who were stunned to see how skilled the 17-year-old has become in the last few years.

Perkins wrote, “Young fella nice. Melo raising a Killa!!! Carry the hell on…” on X praising Kiyan’s mentor and the New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony. He was the 10th-leading scorer in the Nike Eybl. The 6-foot-5 guard interestingly averaged 20.3 points, and 4.6 rebounds per game, shooting 43.3% from the field, 31.1% from 3-point range, and 70.7% from the free-throw line over 10 games.

Previously, in some of his interviews, Kiyan has expressed his interest in a pro career. Before that, there has been a discussion on his college selection. Many expect Kiyan to join Syracuse, his father’s alma mater, where he has also received an offer from, while UConn is also in discussion. Currently ranked 41st on ESPN’s class of 2025, the 17-year-old is treading towards a fair future.
