Shaquille O’Neal is a hugely entertaining figure. Fans flocked to see him in arenas and they swarm now whenever DJ Diesel is around. Even his social media sees 30 million followers engage with his daily updates. Recently one might concur that Big Diesel showed support to his longtime NBA rival. He uploaded a clip from a famous movie released many decades back, but there might be more between the lines.

Apart from being a superstar athlete, the four-time champion is a doting father to six of his kids. He would definitely know a thing or two about the art of parenting. Recently a certain former NBA superstar who has locked horns with Shaq for many years was under fire from the social media police. the three-time finals MVP

The Orlando Magic have drafted two notable centers in their history. Shaq and Dwight Howard. Both were excellent during their time in Orlando but they’ve also famously not gotten along. Howard, now playing for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan, recently uploaded a clip on social media that earned him significant criticism. In the video, he shouted at his son while the nine-year-old operated gym machinery.

Shaquille O’Neal recently uploaded a clip from the 1998 blockbuster, ‘He Got Game’. The movie follows a basketball coach that shows tough love to a young basketball prospect. It starred Denzel Washington and Ray Allen.

In it, the coach says, “It’s the will of the man, it ain’t the skill of the man. Yeah, he can’t play you. He can’t do nothing on you.”

This led to the idea of O’Neal supporting the idea of hard parenting. It could be that Diesel believes that going through adversity can help children become great.

Being in the uppermost echelon of the sport for many years Shaq knows that the path to greatness is not an easy one. But it’s still not a direct statement on Howard’s controversial video. Considering their strange history, the video could be unrelated as well.

The ‘Superman’ beef, and Howard’s comments on the video

From Diesel to Shaq Fu to Superman, Shaq’s star was too bright to earn just one monicker. But in 2008, there was a complication; the birth of a new rivalry. Shaq missed the All-Star game for the first time in his career. And his spot as the NBA’s ‘Superman’ was occupied by someone else.

Orlando Magic‘s star center Dwight Howard. And when Howard donned a Superman costume during the 2008 Dunk Contest, all respect between the two was lost. However, last year Howard publicly asked to put the beef aside. Maybe this video was Shaq’s way of calling a truce?

Either way, Dwight Howard didn’t seem too bothered by all the chaos around him. He responded on social media with, “Good, better, best. Never let it, till your good is better and your better is best.” He continued, “Great or Small do it well. Or not all. Go be great today.” He was seemingly defending by pointing towards the fact that greatness does not come easy.
