Shaquille O’Neal is never afraid to show his love for professional wrestling. Ask his best friend Charles Barkley, who always finds himself up on the receiving end of Shaq’s dominance. During one of those moments, the Lakers legend clearly pinned Chuck and is undefeated against his TNT co-host. But the undefeated streak extends also in the wrestling world, thanks to his partner Jade Cargill.

It seems the love has carried over since and he recently appreciated Cargill for her latest accomplishment. Shaq uploaded a post of the former TBS champion who will now be part of WWE2K24Since making her in-ring debut in January this year during the Royal Rumble PLE, it is the first time Cargill will be part of the WWE 2k series. And Shaquille O’Neal uploaded the story on his Instagram with the post from 2k and Cargill.

The post had the caption, “She’s brewing up a storm! 🌩️👊 Grab the Global Superstars Pack on 9/18 in #WWE2K24.” Before jumping to WWE, Jade Cargill was already a star in the wrestling world. Shaquille O’Neal paired up with Jade Cargill, interestingly it was also her debut match. The Big Aristotle made his return to the SquaredCircle in 2021, on TNT’s wrestling program. In AEW, he faced Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in a mixed tag match.

“Jade [Cargill] picked me as a partner. We’re good friends, she’s a former basketball player, she’s a healthy athlete. This is something as a child had the same aspirations that as a child I had. She wanted to be a professional wrestler,” Shaquille O’Neal said via Shaq Life in 2021. He added, “I’m honored to be her partner and help her get her first win.”

Yes, the 7-foot phenom is undefeated, although he was not much of a help towards the end because Cody Rhodes famously did a top rope cross-body dive on the 4x NBA Champion, who went through two tables.

Shaquille O’Neal was lied to during this match

Yes, two tables were required to stop Shaq, and he was laid out near the ringside. And one of his trainers, QT Marshall, lied to O’Neal about the pain and the impact of the blow. In fact, Marshall revealed, “I told him, ‘Oh, it won’t be that bad, we’ll put a really thick pad underneath,’ which was not true. I just didn’t want him to back out of it.

Obviously, Shaquille O’Neal was angry about it, and he confronted his trainer. “As he came in the back (room), right away, he said, ‘You lied to me! There was no pad under there!'” QT Marshall spoke to Digital Spy in 2021. “That’s wrestling, welcome to wrestling,” added the trainer. Even though he might have lied to him about the spot, he did give Shaq his flowers for leaving it all out.

The clip on YouTube has over 2.1 million views, and the episode of AEW Dynamite had 934,000 viewers, 100k more than the previous week’s episode. Even the owner of the Florida-based promotion called O’Neal “the greatest celebrity wrestler in wrestling history.” Tony Khan was even optimistic about Shaq returning to AEW because they already have a connection. But Jade Cargill has now moved to WWE, should the 3x Finals MVP follow suit?
