Devin Booker received the approval of Warriors star Draymond Green. Before facing off against the Detroit Pistons, the Phoenix Suns star made a special gesture to Michigan State University, where he played a preseason game. Returning to his home city, the NBA star impressed sneaker enthusiasts, Draymond Green, and Michigan native Magic Johnson with his iconic tennis shoes on the court.

Former Michigan State Spartan Green seemed excited for Booker’s homecoming. He shared an Instagram story of the Suns star’s game, captioning it, “Book Plays at Michigan State. Home is where the heart is. #Native,” the Golden State Warriors star wrote.

The Suns secured a 105-97 win at the Breslin Center, where both MSU students and Lansing-area residents were part of the 14,901-strong crowd. Booker was also seen spending time with Michigan coach, Tom Izzo. As if the evening wasn’t already special enough, LA Lakers legend Johnson also praised his fellow Michigan native and Booker’s deep connection to the state.

“Ok, @DevinBook! Your Spartan green tennis shoes looked good last night in East Lansing for the Suns vs. Pistons preseason game!” he wrote on his X handle.

Booker’s teammate Kevin Durant was at his best, like usual, as he led the team with 21 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field. While Bradley Beal had dished out 12 points, Booker supported by posting 10 points. Johnson was a little too enthusiastic to watch Booker in action at Michigan than concerned at the fact that his home team incurred a loss. Much like another part of the crowd in the state.

Devin Booker’s heartwarming gift for Michigan State

After the striking Moss Point Book 1, the Michigan State-inspired Book 1 has gained much love and fame among fans who adore the various versions released over time. One of the most intriguing versions is the Michigan State-inspired edition, titled the “Sparty PE.”

But wait, the Phoenix Suns legend couldn’t return to Michigan without a proper tribute. He presented the “Sparty PE” to the Michigan basketball team. These “PE,” or “Player Edition,” sneakers often showcase unique styles and typically feature a pop of color that distinguishes them from the rest.

These PEs are exclusive, highlighting special preferences and designs. The 4x NBA All-Star did not forget the coaching staff. Izzo was seen holding a pair of these green-hued shoes while speaking in an interview.

That not only shows Booker’s passion to elevate the brand but also his love for Michigan University. Last year, the Suns star released his signature shoe, and since then, numerous bold collections have emerged from the collaboration. This one might just be Michigan’s favorite.
