There are several people who believe rings are the only factor that makes up an NBA star’s legacy. One NBA star who has faced constant ridicule for his failure to win a ring is Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley. While he was criticized by several for his lack of success, including his dear friend Shaquille O’Neal, Barkley’s storied career is enough to prove his doubters wrong. That is certainly what a former Atlanta Hawks star believes.

When the host asked Dominique Wilkins whether he had any regret of not winning the championship, he gave his honest take on the matter. He said, “Not at all.You look at Karl Malone…..Barkley… they never won; does that diminish their greatness? No; just one team gets a chance to win it every year.”

Wilkins’ words might stand true, as there are indeed numerous basketball icons whose greatness goes beyond any ring. But even without rings, Sir Charles’ legacy shines brighter than many other players on the court. However, for someone with 4 rings, Barkley will always remain the inferior player.

Shaquille O’Neal mocked Charles Barkley for being ringless

O’Neal once called out his friend for being ringless. Whenever the Lakers legend takes on his DJ avatar, his lyrics sometimes criticize his fellow players. Once they were aimed at the Chucks, as he said, “Barkley has no rings.” This wasn’t the first time either as whenever things get heated between the two, this topic is dragged in.

It was not uncommon, as the duo often engages in playful arguments. The two share a great bond. Even their mothers are also great friends. However, the big man of the league has a unique way of expressing his love. Have you heard of this story before? Tell us in the comments below.
