Milwaukee Bucks‘ star forward has his hands full. Ahead of the 2023-24 season, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s preparation is in full swing. After he disclosed his decision to train with the Houston Rockets legend, Hakeem Olajuwon, fans have been eagerly awaiting more updates. Of course, one former NBA star found himself going against the current when he shared his perspective on the potential Greek Freak The Dream training camp. However, it appears that both the player and the fans are in for a stroke of luck. The Dream has now spoken on the matter.

Hakeem is the third legend to work with Giannis. Previously, the Greek-Nigerian athlete trained with Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett.

Ahead of his 11th NBA season, Giannis turned to the 2x NBA champion for his training. Reflecting on his experience with these two basketball legends, fans have every reason to be optimistic. Based on Olajuwon’s recent comments it seems that hopes have already materialized. Hakeem shared some insights from the training camp, speaking warmly about the 2020 NBA MVP and DPOY.

“It’s amazing when you see a guy like Giannis, still looking to improve and take his game to another level.”

Hakeem Olajuwon added, “I was very honored to be working with him and it was so much fun and joyful because we have the same background, his parents were from Nigeria. We discussed a lot of things, basketball and not basketball. It was very nice.”

During the offseason, the 7-time All-Star dedicated himself to enhancing his skills. The combination of Giannis’ powerful style of play and Olajuwon’s lethal techniques and maneuvers is a noteworthy aspect to watch in the upcoming NBA season.

Notably, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James invested $50,000 in a training session with the basketball legend. However, the price of this session did not sit well with a former NBA star.

Gilbert Arenas commented on Hakeem’s camp

The former Washington Wizards guard shared his controversial take on players training with The Dream. 

Arenas firstly did not believe that Hakeem’s post-moves would be valuable to a player like Giannis who needs to improve his shooting. But when he learned about the cost attached to the training, Gil was having none of it.

During one of his podcast episodes, he said,  “Charging these young whippersnappers $50,000. When you came in the league in 1984, you wasn’t even making $50,000 a game.”

On the other hand, the Greek Freak seems to be quite confident in his decision. We’ll see what footwork and moves Giannis has added to his bag very soon.
