Shaquille O’Neal‘s youngest daughter penned down a heartwarming message for her mother. The 4x NBA champ’s ex-wife Shaunie Henderson is quite busy this year with the promotion of her new book. Her first-ever memoir titled Undefeated: Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms, shines the spotlight on her life journey and has made quite a stir, especially because of her comments on Shaq. Amidst all the uproar, the Basketball Wives star’s youngest daughter, Me’arah, took to her social media handle to show her support.

The 18-year-old shared a nostalgic picture of her with her mother Shaunie on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Happy mother’s day my (heart)” with a big heart emoji to show her love. The next snap is of an older Me’arah hugging her mother Shaunie. Alongside the story, she wrote, “my hero… wouldn’t trade you for the world. Words can’t explain how grateful I am to have as my mommy. I love you more then life. @iamshaunie so proud of u.”

One thing about Shaunie’s new book that didn’t sit well with the readers is her speaking on how she might not have been in love with O’Neal. About her relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers legend, Henderson wrote, “Looking back, I don’t know that I was ever really in love with the man, but I was in love with the idea of being married to the man I had a family with.”

Numerous fans and sports celebrities including Shannon Sharpe have criticized the above statement. Some further claimed that this may have hurt the O’Neal kids’ emotions. “You do realize that’s the father of your kids you just told your kids I’m not so sure I was ever in love with your father but is it is it okay?” Sharpe said in his show, The Nightcap. However, all the kids have taken to their social media handles to support their mother.

O’Neal also took to his Instagram to support her ex-wife and wrote, “I understand…I wouldn’t have been in love with me either. Wishing you all the best…All love, Shaq.” He further added, “Trust me i get it.” His son Shaqir also commented on the post and wrote, “You know i love ya twin.”

While O’Neal and Shaunie might not have had a successful marriage, the two must be proud parents. The way the O’Neal kids have handled the recent criticism toward their mother Shaunie once again shows the values instilled in them. Netizens and readers may have held varying opinions on the book and her stories, but the O’Neal family is unequivocally supportive of Shaunie.
