Me’Arah O’Neal’s participation in Slam Summer Classic Vol.5 gains attention and pride

Shaquille O’Neal is a father of 6 talented children. He raised everyone to be self-sufficient and able to choose their path. The youngest of the O’Neals, Me’Arah O’Neal, born to Shaq’s ex-wife, Shaunie O’Neal, is 17 years old.

She is ranked 35th among women high-school basketball athletes. Standing at 6′ 4, the young player is a 4-star recruit in the class of 2024 college athletes.

Even at such a young age, the young athlete showed nerves of ice in the presence of college scouts. Proving that the pressure does not bother the O’Neals. The 6’4 player has already had many offers from reputed colleges in the US. Colleges like Kentucky, Arizona State, Alabama, and her dad’s alma mater, LSU, have offered her a place in their college.

The Slam Summer Classic Vol.5 brings together all the top talents from the country to play and showcase their skills at the famous Rucker Park, NYC. Her mother Shaunie could not hold back her emotions as she posted her daughter’s picture with pride.

The uncertainty of carrying forward the LSU legacy

Shaquille O’Neal played his college basketball at the prestigious LSU, a college where legends like Pete Maravich & the first NBA MVP, Bob Petit, played. Shaq during his time at LSU cemented his place as one of the legends. The NBA Hall of Famer went to LSU from 1989 to 1992.

As he decided to enter the NBA draft in 1992, he bid adieu to his beloved college. However, Shaq won the SEC Player of the Year twice and also won men’s basketball Player of the Year in his final year in college.

With the platform and the support the college gave, along with his hard work, Shaq bagged the #1 spot in the 1992 NBA draft.

Even with Shaq’s legacy with the LSU Tigers, his daughter, Me’Arah, is not sure if she wants to be a part of the tradition. Me’Arah coming into the college as a 4-star prospect has gotten many offers, including LSU, but she has not made the decision yet on where she wants to take her talents.
