The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling. After their Thursday night loss against the Phoenix Suns, LeBron James and company find themselves 2 games below the .500 mark. While the team is scrambling for an answer, former Lakers champion Lamar Odom has an easy solution for the team to get back to their winning ways. Having witnessed the dominant season of Anthony Davis so far, 7x NBA champion Robert Horry understands why the former Lakers star is pushing for the team to run the triangle offense.

I have a big problem with the way offenses are ran. If you look at the league, half the teams run the same bulls**t… So if you run some type of offense, you can be successful other than what everybody else does… I think if they ran more offense and ran it through AD, they can be successful,” said Robert Horry in a recent episode of the Big Shot Bob Podcast, in response to Odom’s triangle offense recommendation.

Horry believes that the triangle offense can work because the Lakers have Anthony Davis. A triangle offense usually works with a guard, a wing, and a center. Here, the person in the post acts as the apex of the triangle while the two others spread out. This is precisely where Anthony Davis can dominate if they decide to run the offense through him.

The Los Angeles Lakers need an answer quickly

The Lakers were on top of the world just a few weeks ago when they won the in-season tournament. They proved to everyone that they were one of the best teams and would be a threat to the other teams in the playoffs.

But since then, the team has been on a downward trajectory. They have a 5-11 record after lifting the IST trophy and are currently 10th in the West while barely making the play-in tournament.

The Utah Jazz, who are currently in the 11th spot, are tied with them. As the Golden State Warriors are looking to get back their whole roster, it won’t be long before the Lakers get pushed out of the playoff picture if they do not figure something out.
