It was another game for Anthony Edwards to show up and show out and he continued to perform. The Minnesota Timberwolves swept away the Phoenix Suns 4-0, with Edwards contributing 40 Points. His consistency and style of play have led many to compare him to the GOAT Michael Jordan. Even the Chicago Bulls legend agreed that there are similarities between the two. Yet it seems the former Golden State Warriors coach did not like the comparison.

Mark Jackson shared his views on the comparison through his YouTube channel “Come Talk 2 Me”. Accompanying him on the show was his son Mark Jackson Jr. aka Bluu. The 59-year-old was asked about the heavyweight clash between Nikola Jokic and the AntMan. Bluu asked, “We got the Nuggets and the Timberwolves coming up. Joker running into the new Jordan in Ant-Man, what do you see coming into this series?” Mark Jackson was quick to shut down any comparisons. He said, “Please stop with the new Jordan. It is Anthony Edwards, there’s there’s no there’s there’s no new Jordan.”

While he didn’t appreciate the comparison with Michael Jordan, he quickly praised the Wolves star for his performance.” Anthony Edwards who is a spectacular player, gaining momentum to grabbing the title of being the face of the league or one of those guys that’s in that discussion. I love his swag, I love his confidence, I love his competitive drive and spirit.”

Highlighting how the team is up for any challenge with their no-nonsense attitude,  “…And his team is rolling right now and they are following his lead. No Nonsense and uh embracing every challenge that lies ahead of them. I think it’s going to be a tremendous series tremendous series.” Edwards’ performance has garnered attention from a lot of legends, especially Charles Barkley.

Barkley loves the Michael Jordan-esque behavior of Edwards

It’s one thing to trash talk but Edwards has backed it up at every game during the round 1 games. After game 3, Antman said, “I just wanna kill everything in front of me, man. That’s the main thing pretty much.” The words immediately reminded Chuck of 2 former NBA greats.

During tonight’s Inside The NBA show, he admitted, “It reminded me so much of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. They would kill you to win a game.” Barkley said Bryant and Jordan had no friends during the game, unlike today’s era where everybody is considered to be a buddy.

Next up for Anthony Edwards are the Denver Nuggets. Even though Edwards scored 40 points against the Suns, 31 of them came in the 2nd half. Surely a stat he would want to improve.
