When it comes to basketball, there is an array of legends who have contributed to shaping the landscape of the sport over the years. But one name that stands out among the rest is Marbury. Since the 90’s, the Marbury family has produced five basketball players who not only showcased their basketball prowess but also accumulated a long list of accolades.

Interestingly, Stephon Marbury unveiled some of the least-known facts about the family and elite players. “At an early age, I was blessed. Marbury’s encounter with Michael Jordan

The eldest brother of the Marbury family, Eric Marbury, was the first one to share the court with some legends like Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan. Though he was never able to make it to the league; “my brother knew what it was to try to go to the league… But that mentality, that mindset, when you don’t make it, you just instill that into the next generation,” said Stephon.

And then the hunger from it, from you not making it and being frustrated from not making it, and taking that, and then giving it to the next brother in line, and then the next brother in line,” he added. But this curse of not making it to the league continued until Stephon Marbury took the responsibility. And finally, he became the first person from the family to make it to the league.

Not only this, but he also played against Michael Jordan eight times, averaging 20.3 points and 3.4 rebounds. Now the question is: Will the upcoming Marbury generation continue this legacy, just like Stephon did? What’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments below.
