The Inside Crew has its fair share of multi-hyphenates. But there will always be a Kardashian to one up. Kim Kardashian cemented that very omnipresent status with an astounding deal for one of her most hyped businesses, And what better way to commemorate that milestone than pitching modeling offers to a couple of NBA legends?

But her little gesture was off the mark with Charles Barkley, who confessed he has no use for Kim’s product. Just another day of Sir Charles’ brand of humor.

In the latest mash-up of reality TV and basketball, Kim Kardashian’s ultra-popular brand, SKIMS, is now partnered with the NBA and WNBA. The news, of course, reached the TNT studio along with a special package. Kimberley is recruiting a few underwear models among the Inside the NBA panel. She instead, earned a few skeptics.

Charles Barkley was the first to chime in on the news. “It won’t have an effect upon me because y’all know I burned all my drawers a few years ago.” He’s not kidding. Even Kenny Smith had to ask Chuck repeatedly if he truly didn’t wear underwear and why did he burn his drawers.

He’s repeated this story several times. That’s why the show threw it back to his and Ernie’s appearance in the Steam Room when he said exactly that. “They weren’t comfortable. So I burned them, like, 20 years ago.” He said previously too that he had a “big ol’ barn fire” of his drawers.

Barkley may not need the underwear but Kardashian sent two packages of them anyway. SKIMS is known for its size-inclusivity with comfort that catapulted the brand to $1.6 billion in value. It will grow further as it makes appearances in NBA events but not if the Inside Guys act like really bad spokespersons.

While genuinely grateful for Kim’s present, they doubt the sizes are inclusive of the Round Mound of Rebound and Big Diesel. One in particular had Barkley go, “What the hell!” Shaq graciously declared he can’t fit in any of them and passed them along to Ernie and Kenny.

Barkley, for his part, tried to convince Smith that a certain piece was a double-XL. We know this is one underwear Chuck won’t be burning. But he’s burning bridges elsewhere.

When he was on the Steam Room podcast last year, Barkley was denouncing all underwear.

On his recent appearance, he indirectly referenced Magic Johnson’s new billionaire status. Chuck claimed he could’ve made the billionaire athletes club too with a nudge by James Harden.

“I tell people I had a dollar for every time somebody asks me about James Harden…I would be a billionaire…Anyway, I am so glad that it’s over,” declared the Chuckster.

Barkley’s humor is shining whether it’s on SKIMS or James Harden. Though he could have a shot at billionaire status getting on the SKIMS underwear bandwagon too.

I was 7 when I saw 'Space Jam' but didn't know till the third rewatch the lead actor is actually a living basketball legend. It was while studying journalism that my friend would go on about the Warriors from Golden State. Keen on athletes' personas outside their arenas, it was Stephen Curry's confidence and philanthropy that drew me to follow the news on NBA pros and explore sports media.
