The LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks will tip off at the Crypto.com arena tonight, and anticipations are high for both teams. The Mavs have had a pretty good run this season, winning ten of the fifteen games they played. LA, on the other hand, has been struggling; especially after the addition of James Harden to the team. The five-game losing streak since his joining was finally broken when they won three consecutive wins last week.

In the lead-up to the match-off, predictions have been running wild, and two familiar faces decided to chime in. During a conversation for his kgcertified, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce shared two different opinions on the potential winner. Where Pierce was seen supporting Dallas, Garnett is of the opinion that the Clippers have a high chance of winning just based on the fact that they seem to have finally found their winning mix and nothing is stopping them now.

Paul Pierce further explained his stand by saying that Luka Dončić alone is enough to “put them on his knees every time.” Pierce added, “The Clippers are still trying to find their identity with James Harden… They’re still trying to figure things out and Luca comes in, and they get the win.” The former Clippers guard did acknowledge their wins but added it came from the final buzzer only.

Kevin Garnett, on the other hand, was very firm in his stance that James Harden and Co will definitely win. He shared, “If I hear the Clippers have been practicing, I will actually feel better about the progression of the team.” Garnett added that these sessions and walk-throughs will help them overcome the chemistry issues they have been struggling with while having four superstars on a team. While both of them are justified in their opinions, we can only know the winner after that final buzzer.

Clippers vs Mavericks breakdown

In their previous match-off for this season on November 11, Dallas prevailed with a 144-126 win. At the same time, these past five games have been tough for them with just two wins. Against this, LA fares much better coming off pretty strong victories. If they manage to maintain that performance with this game as well, a win seems possible. They also have the advantage of playing with the support of their home crowd.
