With the playoff battle heating up on the one hand, Charles Barkley is getting more and more transparent on Inside the NBA. This is not the first time that the Philadelphia 76ers icon has taken jabs at people. However, his hilarious attack on Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles, and her hometown Galveston, has got him into quite some trouble. Barkley’s viral rant came out after the New Orleans Pelicans got blown out by the OKC Thunder in game 3, and Shaquille O’Neal is here to defend Beyonce’s mother and the BeyHive from more embarrassment. 

Charles Barkley had a lot to say about the beaches in Galveston a few days back. His personal experience at the “dirty” beaches, triggered him to use mock Galveston on live television. After learning that it was Beyonce’s mom’s hometown, Shaq, who is a part of the BeyHive(fans of Beyonce) decided to punish Barkley for his hilarious yet harsh words. Shaq shared an Instagram video where he had Barkley in a chokehold.

The 1993 MVP was forced to say, “I apologize to the BeyHive. Galveston is a beautiful place. Thank you Shaq“. Shaq also tagged Tina Knowles, and wrote, “I got you“.

Barkley shared after game 3 between the Pelicans and the Thunder, “We’re going to send them to Galveston, where that dirty a** water be washing up on the shore and you people think you’re at the beach.” Barkley from now on will opt out from using words like this as long as Shaq’s got Knowles’ back.

Barkley started using Galveston to mock the teams who were on the brink of elimination quite regularly. To his advantage, the Phoenix Suns and the Pelicans, both got swept in the first round, which gave him an opportunity. However, there was a warning from Beyonce’s mother as well! 

Tina Knowles warns Charles Barkley on social media

After Barkley started taking jabs at Galveston a bit too often, Tina Knowles couldn’t hold back her frustration. The Texas Hold ‘Em singer’s mom warned Barkley with an Instagram post – “Chuck, we don’t play about Galveston, Texas! You better watch it, sucker!“. Big words indeed! She also enlightened Chuck by adding, “Our water might not be blue, but it is still the beach and we love it! In fact, what you probably don’t know is it’s an island!!“

The NBA icon later made an apology on live TV and later on Instagram to make sure he evened things out. Barkley shared, “Ms. Knowles, I don’t want that smoke … Ms. Knowles, I apologize. I don’t want the BeyHive and Jay after me.” Despite all this, Shaq wanted Barkly to apologize once again. Looks like the BeyHive has got a new leader now, eh?
