Former Lakers teammates, the duo from the infamous Banana Boat Crew is beefing. Well actually it’s just from one end and that’s too, a friendly diss by Carmelo Anthony. The timing for it is actually insane. During the US Olympics training camp, Melo showed up and even met his boat crew members LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Later, jokingly benched King James in favor of young stars for the starting 5. And now it seems, Anthony doesn’t want the joke to stop.

LeBron James will be playing his 4th Olympics after achieving gold in two of the previous games. In 2008 and 12 even Melo was part of the squad, but now he mocks his former running mate not once but twice. Appearing on 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero, Anthony once again took playful shots. “Bron’s Not Playing,” he said when asked a compelling question by his co-host.

The Kid Mero asked point blank to Jayson Tatum, the guest for the episode, “This year’s Team USA playing ones to determine who’s ‘HIM’.” He continued, “Coach come in and he’s just like ‘JT, Bron, to 10 let’s go.’ You shoot for ball.” Even before JT could share his thoughts, Melo wanted no participation from LeBron James. Bron, with the others not on his top 5, can just watch the game he adds.

But is this the way, Melo thinks he would get back to the Lakers player?

A few days ago, Kiyan Anthony was asked if he and his dad would be able to play LeBron and Bronny James. “I think Bron and Bronny will win, to be honest just because Bron is still in the league. He is still doing what he doing. I don’t know, it will be a close game, I feel like it will be like 11-8, 11-7.

So son Kiyan’s diss to Carmelo Anthony with ‘LeBron is still in the league’ is funny. And Melo on his podcast gave the response, “Hope he don’t think that sh**.” Very much understand that Kiyan would diss his father at every opportunity he gets. And it seems like the 17-year-old just took a page from his father’s book.

What did Carmelo Anthony say the first time on LeBron James exclusion?

“I would go with Steph, Bron, AD, KD, and I will go with… Who am I missing?” When he was asked about names like Tatum, Edwards and Joel Embiid, Melo changed his entire narrative. “Nah, scratch that, I’ll go young. I’ll go young. I’ll go Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, I’ll go Jayson Tatum. And I’m missing one more, Book,” was Melo’s first team for the Men’s USAB.

And once again he ignored LeBron when he announced his final five today, with a slight change. “JT, ANT, KD, Book, Steph would jump in there.” When his co-host Kid Mero tried to confirm which player was missing out. Carmelo Anthony said, “I just told you.” Referencing to LeBron James.

Amidst all the jokes, LeBron James is locked in. He said apart from him there are 11 other guys that he wants to play with. Whoever gets on the court, hope they end up bringing the 5th consecutive gold for the team.
