Jamal Crawford turned up all pumped for the DM5, 2024, the first basketball training camp organized by NBA player DeJounte Murray. After preparing Victor Wembanyama for the regular season, JCrossover led a skills and drills camp for kids that ran until August 4. Apparently, a new promising candidate has emerged for Crawford to train, as revealed by his TNT colleague Candace Parker.

The NBA legends on TNT panelists share a great bond. The 2X league MVP is often seen squaring off with NBA legends in the middle of shoots. Parker and Crawford are also known for engaging in hilarious pranks and games with fellow panelist Shaquille O’Neal behind the scenes.

Hartt is Parker and her wife Anna Petrakova’s second child. The couple welcomed their first child, Airr Larry, in 2022. The Instagram post also served as a shout-out to the Chicago Bulls for their efforts at the basketball training camp.

Jamal Crawford appreciates mentee and brother DeJounte Murray

Murray started his basketball camp to give kids an experience of the sport that top professionals, including the 3X NBA Sixth Man of the Year, can inspire. He learned it in a similar way from Crawford, who used to train him during the summers.

Murray once revealed that he had been in touch with Crawford since he was in 6th grade. The Bulls legend recalled hearing about Murray’s potential from his high school teammate David King, who was popularly known as “Baby Boy.” After witnessing Murray’s 40-point performance, Crawford decided to mentor him. The Bulls legend is also close to the New Orleans Pelicans star’s family and continues to stay in touch with him regularly.

“I had heard about him already, and from that point on in the sixth grade, we stayed together. And then, he ended up going to my high school, and our relationship just really took off. He’s like more than even a friend. He’s like my brother,” Crawford once said. The NBA legend would make the perfect mentor for Parker’s son if he were to pursue basketball.
