The momentum is truly in Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets side. Gilbert Arenas has some advice for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Antman after the annihilation from Jokic. Anthony Edwards just couldn’t get any momentum in Game 5 and ended with 18 points. Even struggling Rudy Gobert managed 18 points with 11 rebounds as opposed to Edwards’s 4. One more way Edwards could be more productive is if he decides to go ballistics in shooting as per the crew.

Arenas was shell-shocked by the Wolves’ performance and also questioned their chances against the Nuggets. On what could Anthony Edwards do better, he said, “Can’t rely on these mother****ers.” It’s like the entire team of Wolves had given up, so the 3x All-Star suggested going solo. Giving an example of Jalen Brunson’s Game 5 against the Pacers, he asked Anthony Edwards to take charge if he wished to win. “He (Edwards) turned on yesterday’s game. Look what Brunson did. You going have to take 35 shots,” advised Gilbert Arenas.

Jokic’s performance was so dominating that he proved to people once again why he was the 2023-2024 MVP award winner. But his win isn’t sitting right with many around the league. First, it was Shaq who stated his displeasure on the award, saying probably Shai deserved it better, and then Stephen A. Smith followed suit. Now, Gilbert Arenas joins the mix. But Arenas isn’t just calling out Jokic’s win, he attempts to highlight the bias of the entire NBA media.

Even Anthony Edwards himself had no words for Jokic’s domination. Speaking of Jokic’s dominating game, he said, “I just laugh. That’s all I can do. I mean, I can’t be mad. Because he’s good, man. … He’s the best player in the game … He was special tonight. I got to give him his props.” 

Will the Wolves bounce back from the setback?

Jokic became the only Center since 1968 with a 40+points and 10+ assists in a playoff game. Not so surprisingly it was the second time he achieved it. He finished the night with 40 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds, and 0 turnovers as he became the second player in NBA history to achieve such a stat line. The performance was so great that he made Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards look like a novice. Even Lil Wayne had to step in for the DPOY. 

Anthony Edwards knows he was playing catch in game 5 but his performance was shocking in comparison to the last performance. This comes in the wake of the franchise superstar scoring a career-high playoff score (44 points) just last game.
