Milestones in a family’s history are quietly strong times when personal pride meets public legacy. For Carlos Boozer, a former NBA All-Star and an Olympic medalist for his country, that moment didn’t happen on the court but on the front steps of his home, where his twin sons, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, stood in their caps and gowns, wearing academic medals and reflecting four years of effort both on and off the court. That demonstrates that the hard work has started to pay off, and the proud father will soon possibly see his sons on the tracks he once dominated. And before that, he has to send a heartfelt message for everyone to see.

The scene, which was caught on camera outside their Miami house, was more than just a high school graduation. It was a big deal for two brothers who grew up in the public eye under their father’s watchful eye. As the boys are already well-known in the basketball world, scouts, analysts, and fans all over the country are interested in them. Reason? They are five-star recruits in the 2025 class and have done well in their careers so far. On May 18, 2025, though, the talk changed from rankings and recruiting to something more personal: the power of being a father.

Cameron and Cayden stood proudly next to each other with happiness visible on their faces. Being more than just promising athletes, the twins had just helped Christopher Columbus High School win its fourth straight state title and a Chipotle Nationals championship. Carlos Boozer posted on Instagram: “The End Is The Beginning!!!! Congrats On Graduating High School!!! What An Incredible 4 Years It’s Been, Guys!!! 🎓 We Are All So Proud Of You… It Takes A Village & You Both Have Grown Into Amazing Young Men!!! Praying God Protects Your Every Step As You Enter The Next Chapter!!! #holdat” This made their high school careers one of the best in recent memory. But it was their father’s passionate remarks that made the moment feel true.

With passionate words, he honored not only his kids’ academic success but also the journey they were taking toward a future shaped by discipline, faith, and legacy as they had the hand of their father over their shoulders. There is a lot of tireless effort behind those smiles and awards that goes well beyond the stage, as there are many hopes for the 17-year-old twins.

Cameron and Cayden intend to make the most of the chemistry fostered by Carlos Boozer

Now that Cameron and Cayden Boozer have graduated, they are getting ready to take the next big step: playing for Duke University in the 2025–26 season. Their choice to go to Duke wasn’t only about keeping up a basketball heritage; it was also about going back to their roots and learning more from the place where their dad came from. Carlos, a Blue Devil icon himself, has witnessed his sons following in his footsteps, bringing the Boozer name back to its roots at Cameron Indoor Stadium. As the expectations are mounting, the major question arises: will they live up to the demands of their father as things get tough?

Cameron, a 6-foot-10 power forward, averaged 22.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in his last year of high school. He was crowned Mr. Basketball USA and Gatorade National Player of the Year, which shows that he is likely to be a top-5 NBA Draft choice in 2026. Cayden, a 6-foot-5 point guard recognized for his intelligence and leadership, averaged 14.3 points and 7.2 assists. He was named a McDonald’s All-American and one of the best floor generals in the country. Yes, they are on the right track and are likely to continue at their very best in their next stage of their career.

What’s your perspective on:

Will the Boozer twins surpass their father's legacy at Duke, or is it too much pressure?

Have an interesting take?

Their high school dominance was remarkable, with four state championships, three EYBL titles, and a 30-3 senior season capped by a dominant victory at the Chipotle Nationals. It’s not just the accolades that make the Boozer twins different; it’s also their chemistry, as both brothers know each other very well, which helps them to capitalize on each other’s strengths, which makes it unpredictable for their opponents. Their father, who raised them together and gave them access to the best resources needed to master the game, also provides guidance, which aids their on-court chemistry.

Now, they’ll enter a Duke program that is already stacked in talent, including fellow five-star Nikolas Khamenia and Princeton transfer Jack Scott. With Head Coach Jon Scheyer’s 2025 class ranked No. 1 nationally, it acts as the cherry on top, with sky-high expectations rolling from Day 1. It’s not going to be easy for Cameron and Cayden, but they will enjoy the freedom to rewrite history and add a chapter of their own.

They also share a very emotional story that has resonated widely: from their selfless early days when their elder brother Carmani was suffering from sickle cell anemia, the twins’ umbilical cord blood helped save their brother’s life. The same spirit will now fuel Cameron and Cayden as they intend to create magic under the bright lights of Durham.
