I’m not getting on that s—,” Carmelo Anthony quipped on the same Bahamas trip! Despite not being in the picture, Melo is always included in the infamous Banana Boat Crew conversation. Later, Melo revealed that he was just late when they were trying out all the water sports. While he was invited by his friends after he arrived, Melo wasn’t up for the banana boat ride.

Wade revealed on Pardon My Take that Melo insisted he was “too cool” for the ride. But he decided to make the obvious but heartlessly cruel decision. When the host asked whom he would have kicked out if Melo had wished to get on the boat, Wade explained that it wouldn’t be his wife, I won’t be kicking my wife off the banana boat. When the hosts suggested his assumption that it could be Paul, Wade didn’t say anything until he did. “Sorry CP,” Wade said. Ouch! Don’t forget, it was the Riff Raff actress who wanted to go on the boat in the first place. After failing to convince the girls, Union somehow managed to get the boys on the ride. “I will take credit for the banana boat fiasco or glory, depending on how you look at it,” Union said during her appearance on Hot Ones.

Their Bahamas trip was going well until one of the times when the friends got down for a swim. Melo was enjoying the water and swimming, however, he suddenly felt a strong pull of the current in the middle of the ocean. Experts would know, this is quite scary. The one to notice it first was the Los Angeles Lakers veteran.

In an IG Live with the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade, Melo recounted how James dove in to make a heroic jump into the water and pull him toward the boat. “Then I look up at the boat and I see Bron jumps off the boat like he’s MacGyver. … He jumped off the boat into the water. He was bringing me back with one arm. He’s swimming with [one] arm and he’s carrying me with the [other] arm,” Melo recalled.
