When I speak, I try to speak from facts. It may come out wrong and you may think I’m hating.Shaquille O’Neal explained his criticism about the French Center wasn’t a personal attack. All he wants is the 4x DPOY to dominate the opposition and not be an easy target during pick-and-roll. The Lakers legend has always been critical of the current generation of Bigs. And Carmelo Anthony detailed why the present players don’t reach out to Shaq.

Speaking on his weekly podcast, Melo said, “But on a serious note, I wish they would. With that being said, they don’t want to because they don’t feel like there’s any relevancy between Shaq’s game and the game today. So nobody is saying, hey, go see Shaq,” Carmelo Anthony said on ‘7PM in Brooklyn podcast’.

The former Knicks star also wished the current Bigs to reach out to the 4x NBA Champion. However, due to the change of pace of the league and the play style, there is very little that the current players might relate to Shaquille O’Neal. “They going to say, hey, go see T-Mac, go see this guy, go see Melo, go see, like they ain’t go see Shaq. But now, and that’s the unfortunate part.

Afterall, Shaq dominated the league and averaged 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks. Rudy Gobert is ahead only in the rebounding category (11.8), and his 12.7 points, and 2.1 blocks fail in comparison to the 52-year-old. But not just for on-court advice, O’Neal once revealed that the current generation of stars haven’t reached out to him in terms of building their portfolio either.

Earlier this month, Shaquille O’Neal appeared on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’. The host and former NFL legend asked Shaq about the new generation of players and if they were asking for any advice. The $500 million net worth legend said no and explained that he didn’t want to reason on their behalf, but understood why nobody reached out.

Can Rudy Gobert ever turn Shaquille O’Neal’s opinion?

It all got heated up when Shaq once again called out the Wolves player as the WOAT. So, naturally, the triggered French center replied and called O’Neal. “It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did Shaq, both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.”

But a former teammate of Shaquille O’Neal issued a challenge to the 4x DPOY. “You got a young dog over there with you, you win a championship. You got a dog, so win a championship and everybody shut the fu** up.” Udonis Haslem was clear about the plans for Gobert. He wanted the Wolves’ center to help Anthony Edwards and claim their first trophy.

After failing to beat the Mavericks in the Conference Finals, Gobert’s form at the Olympics also dipped. With an average of just 3.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks, in front of the home crowd. So definitely Center has to lock in massively and hopefully deliver better results, not only for the team but improve on his performance as well. And with Shaq, possibly in his last season on TNT as an analyst, there is no reason why O’Neal will stop criticizing Gobert soon.
