Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Hart never fail to bring the laughs, whether it’s through their fashion choices or their legendary banter. Their chemistry was on full display in a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Gold Minds with Kevin Hart. But what about the nights we don’t hear about? Well, thanks to filmmaker Will Packer, we just got a hilarious peek into one of their wildest nights out.

In the latest episode of his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn, Melo was asked about the incident when he partied with Hart and the famous film producer Will Packer. Before Packer revealed his perspective, here’s how the night began: Hart had just finished a sold-out comedy special at Madison Square Garden and decided to join Melo for an after-party.

But little did they know, the night would spiral into something none of them expected. However, the producer, who was also with Hart, revealed that he wasn’t aware of how intense the after-party was going to be. Hart and Packer planned to catch the next flight back for their project.

As the trio partied through the night, Packer quickly realized this wouldn’t be a simple get-together when the server arrived, arms full of liquor bottles, ready to fuel a long night. And as if he needed anything more, Melo said, “We’re gonna die tonight, fellas.” It was going to be a long night. But the problem was their project. Both Packer and Hart had to get back to shoot the film at any cost.

He added how the producer was trying his best to convince him to let them go as they had to get back to the project the next morning. So was he successful?

Was Will Packer able to save the movie?

Both Packer and Hart were working on a film together. This was one of their biggest projects. The two had also worked together on Real Husbands of Hollywood, Ride Along, Think Like a Man and more. During Packer’s recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show to promote his new book, Who Better Than You?: The Art of Healthy Arrogance & Dreaming Big, the producer shared how Hart had actually double-booked himself when they had shooting on both Friday and Saturday.

That’s why Hart suggested that the producer fly with him to New York. And they both could return in time. So, that is how it all happened. Packer said he and Hart had only “40 minutes” to get to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. And this was 12 miles from Manhattan. “When Kevin goes, ‘Well, I tried,’ I realized it was like ‘The Usual Suspects’ when you realize Keyser Söze. If just the star leaves set and doesn’t come back, the movie’s in jeopardy. If the producer is with him, I’m complicit. It all falls on me,” Packer shared on the show.

During the party, the producer had to request the New York Knicks legend to let them leave for this one day as they had to be present for the next shoot. That’s when Melo finally gave in. But not before practically dragging Hart out of the club. “Carmelo goes, ‘Alright, get out of here. I’m gonna let you go this one time.’ I knocked drinks out of everybody’s hand, [and] grabbed [Hart] by his collar. We had cops escort us to the private jet,” the producer said. Packer was able to save the day. It was a close call.
