Kiyan Anthony is on his way to become a superstar in the basketball world. However, before he shines bright on the hardwood, he is already the apple of his parents’ eyes. Proud mother La La Anthony continuously boasts about her son’s prowess, just like his father Carmelo Anthony. However, this time, she has spoken some very special words for the 17-year-old.

The TV personality recently posted an “Ask me anything” Instagram story. Among the very personal questions was one that she couldn’t help but respond with her son’s love in her heart. The question asked what her biggest motivation is. To this, La La Anthony responded, “KIYAN ANTHONY” with a heart in between. She also tagged the rising star and added another heart emoji with his name.

This was not the first time that the former MTV VJ gave her son a shout-out. In fact, she ensures that she supports him through his journey of becoming a great hooper. She even celebrates his tiniest achievements. In her previous interview with People, she also mentioned what his son meant to her on his 16th birthday.

She said, “You are my happiness. You are my motivation. You are my EVERYTHING. You have the most humble & kind heart. You are the hardest worker and you are so focused & dedicated to your dream it’s incredible to watch.”

Apart from the gleaming mother, Kiyan also seems to have a special bond with his father, New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony.

There is no doubt that this balling father and son duo have great chemistry, especially because of their mutual interest in the sport. While Kiyan is also a part of the 10x NBA All-Star’s AAU team  — Team Melo — the father also ensures that he attends all of his son’s games. Previously, Melo had said that watching his son transform into a full-blown athlete has been very emotional for him.

However, La La Anthony does make sure that the pressure of following his father does not take a toll on Kiyan. In fact, she has publicly said that Kiyan’s path is his own and Carmelo Anthony and his legacy should not be a factor that changes it.

Nevertheless, we see that Kiyan is making some huge waves in his high school basketball career. Being named a top prospect for the 2025 college basketball, Kiyan is also garnering attention from the top names in the industry. He is surely a baller that everyone needs to keep an eye out for.
