Gabrielle Union does everything with style and elegance. This year has been quite hectic for the ‘Bring It On’ actress. She has had quite a few film projects. Union will feature as Sandy in ‘Riff Raff’ and Shay Williams in ‘Casket Girls’. But sometimes, even the simplest moments, like a handshake, can turn into viral gold. Recently, Union revisited a six-year-old clip of her and J. Cole at the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend. And her response? As hilarious as ever.

During her appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, the actress was asked about one of her hilarious moments with famed rapper J. Cole in front of Dwyane Wade. Well, let’s not forget, this happened nearly six years ago. Wade and his wife, Union, attended the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend. The rapper was also in attendance and had a heartwarming conversation with the couple.

He posed with them, then dapped up Wade. And while it was Union’s turn, he extended his hand for a handshake. Union too responded with a dap up. Quite cool? That’s what the netizens thought as well. This went viral on social media. So, the host’s question on behalf of listeners was, “do you believe people should avoid hugging other people’s significant others out of respect?”

In response, she replied, “It depends – you gotta know, like, can they fight? I dapped people up. It’s like a classic dap.” “There’s, like, in front of the world, how do you dap up somebody who’s a billion years younger than you in front of your spouse? And I thought I did a bang-up job!” Union responded.

The clip gained even more traction after Michael Ealy went viral for hugging Meagan Good, Jonathan Majors’ girlfriend. Some fans felt his gesture was inappropriate, and they pointed to Union and J. Cole’s handshake as the perfect way to greet someone’s significant other without crossing boundaries.

Union later reshared one of the clips on her X. These hilarious instances remind people of the more recent moment when American actor and singer Usher stopped serenading Union.

Usher was serious about not wanting any “Smoke” with Dwyane Wade

Union and Wade, known for their love of live music, were in the crowd at La Seine Musicale when Usher took the stage. But when he started singing ‘Boyfriend,’ things took a funny turn.

Union was seen dancing and grooving to the music. As the singer got near the couple, he shook hands with Wade and said, “Well, he should know I’m pretty — OK, let’s stop. Let’s not get carried away. This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy.” The moment quickly garnered laughter and hilarious responses from the netizens. “What’s up, king?” Usher said as he hugged Union.
