It’s the last Shaqtin a Fool of the regular season. The last honoree of the 2023-24 edition is Andre Drummond with supporting actor, Torrey Craig. Their moment that was less alley, more oops, left the entire gang at Inside the NBA in stitches at closing and made the regular season broadcast memorable. However, Charles Barkley wanted to give Drummond the benefit of the doubt.

Chuck, this may be the worst play in Shaqtin’ history!” Shaquille O’Neal tried to say. But Barkley contended, “It wasn’t Drummond’s fault!” Fans might disagree.

Even before taking the Shaqtin a Fool crown, the NBA community was savoring this viral moment served by the Chicago Bulls center. Craig was making a fastbreak during Tuesday’s game against the Knicks. He was about to make a self-alley oop off the backboard, which ended in embarrassing fashion because – sorry Chuck – of Drummond. He may have thought that the off-the-backboard pass was for him and interrupted it, colliding with Craig in midair. The dunk didn’t sink causing a Bulls turnover.

Kenny said that Drummond mistook that as a pass to him, which is why Barkley says it wasn’t his fault. O’Neal’s suggestion, Drummond would’ve got a signal from Craig if he was meant to get involved. They can drag him all they want but Sir Charles stood firm. “I will defend my man Drummond.” Too bad he’s outnumbered.

Shaqtin a Fool hilariously captured the moment Drummond posterized his teammate. To make it more embarrassing for the Bulls, Drummond checked out of the game early but for a legitimate ankle injury.

Even before TNT improved it with animations and a cameo from Michael Jordan, fans had already gone wild with the memes. Drummond was the main butt of the jokes.

Andre Drummond is the closing act

Shaq and Kenny noted that Coby White nearly went in too but stood back because he realised it was not a pass. So Barkley wanted Ernie to settle the debate. “Was it a pass or a missed dunk?” Kenny claims it’s a pass but that’s a whole other discussion.

Shaqtin a Fool added this gem, “Teamwork makes the dream work,” for Craig and Drummond’s hilarity. A fan added that their mid-air expressions before the dunk went wrong deserved to be in the Hall of Fame, to which Shaq said, “Yes it does.” Honorary mention goes to Barkley’s subtle dig, “That explains the Bulls season.” Note: he was ripping into Drummond just before his Shaqtin honors.

The verdict is inconclusive at Studio J. Andre Drummond might not have the blame but he has the credit for closing Inside the NBA’s regular season broadcast with a bang.
