Charles Barkley is back at TNT and he chimed in to share the pros and cons of the Miami Heat‘s latest blockbuster trade. Terry Rozier played his second game with the Heat today after the Charlotte Hornets shipped him to South Beach in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a 1st round pick. Though Barkley believes this is an “upgrade” for Jimmy Butler & Co., he has concerns about Rozier’s “bad habits” that he acquired from the Hornets.

Barkley shared, “Kyle [Lowry] is older now, he is not the same player…The Miami Heat are one of the best organizations in the NBA…I think it’s a nice trade for them.” Hold your seats, let’s listen to the concerns as well. The 1993 MVP added, “But you gotta give this a couple weeks…He[Rozier]’s gotta learn to get rid of the ball. When you play on a bad team you develop a lot of bad habits.

Chuck is probably referring to the fact that ‘Scary Terry’ will have to be less ball dominant while playing for a competitive team. Unlike in Charlotte, Barkley said Rozier is now surrounded by an amazing cast. The Sixers legend believes, “He didn’t have that luxury [with the Hornets].

Badmouthing the Hornets may have ended Barkley’s friendship with Michael Jordan but the candid Sir Charles is not hesitating to fire more shots at the franchise.

Terry Rozier’s “full circle moment” is off to a bad start

This was a memorable moment for 29-year-old Rozier who has been an ardent fan of the Miami Heat, and especially Dwyane Wade. His love for the organization started several years ago, and he considers this new journey a full-circle moment. Rozier shared, It’s been no secret how much love I have for Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade growing up… I’m happy to be back on that stage in a playoff race.”

However, the first game was a wake-up call for him and the Heat as well. In a game against an injured Memphis Grizzlies, the Heat lost by 9 points after they couldn’t secure crucial plays in the fourth quarter. Rozier was trying his best, but he was forcing shots that led to a low-scoring game for him.

‘Scary Terry finished the game with 9 points and 2 assists out of the 30 minutes he played. He shot 3/11 from the field and 20% outside the three-point line. As Barkley said, his scoring run this season will take a hit due to the supporting cast he has now. Efficiency is the key for Rozier to make this trade valuable for the Heat.
