Charles Barkley is an expert at analyzing NBA games on TNT. Last year, he looked at the Golden State Warriors games and predicted they wouldn’t be successful in the upcoming season, which has now become a fact. As a result, the Warriors lost the play-in match against the Sacramento Kings 118-94.
Barkley said in The Pat McAfee Show, “Last year, Stephen Curry bailed them out in Game 7 when he went off for 50. I don’t think he is capable of doing that any longer.” Chuck said this before the game, expecting the Kings to make it difficult for the Warriors. He also spoke about how picking James Wiseman as the #2 draft pick turned out to be a problem for now.
Plus, the aging warrior team couldn’t keep up like before because of wear and tear. “And you go back; they really kind of messed up on the Wiseman, taking him number two pick in the draft. it worked out Kuminga coming on but the thing with Wiseman has probably been the thing that set them back the most.”

While talking about the Play-in, he believes the system was made for teams who weren’t good at basketball and not teams like Lakers and Warriors. “Think it was really supposed to be for the s**t teams, I’m not going to lie.”

The Warriors’ heroes continue to struggle
While the Wiseman pick did not come to fruition as they would have liked, that still happened in the 2020 draft. Another issue for failing, which Charles Barkley alluded to, was players aging. Klay Thompson couldn’t impact the game from a scoring perspective after being on the court for 32 minutes, and could only add 4 rebounds and one assist.

It is clear that two back-to-back leg injuries have affected him in some form or another. Because of this, his average has been the lowest since the 2013–14 season. The Warriors dynasty could end with rumors of him leaving via free agency.

As a result, the Kings can score with anybody, but they can flat-out score. Then there was Draymond Green, the team’s defensive anchor, who did keep Domantas Sabonis in check, but his previous issues didn’t help the team, making his four ejections and two suspensions have a damaging effect on the team.
So it is clear the Golden State Warriors need a rebuild, and now it seems Klay Thompson won’t be a part of the franchise. But where do you think the Warriors can improve, and does any good free agent come to mind?
