Did Charles Barkley’s podcast get cursed? Chuck’s Steam Room podcast with Ernie Johnson has gained immense success—and that too in a very short time. In the last few seasons, the podcast has had several guests such as Tom Brady, Mark Cuban, and Draymond Green, among others. However, the host and NBA legend recently claimed that guests have been afraid to appear on the show. So, what happened that made Chuck make such claims about one of the most entertaining and fan-loved podcasts?

During his appearance on Tim Green’s Nothing Left Unsaid podcast, Sir Charles wanted to invite Tim and Troy Green to his own show. However, while doing so, he also ended up revealing an unfair ban that he is facing. “People are avoiding us like the plague right now,” Barkley admitted. What is the reason?

Chuck and EJ hosted Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, on the podcast a couple of months ago. “We had the Second Gentleman on the week before the election and that did not go very well, so we’re kind of developed, we’re like the SportsIllustrated curse. Everybody who comes on our podcast, it doesn’t go well for them,” Barkley explained.

While there is certainly no curse following The Steam Room, Harris’ loss in the presidential race to Donald Trump might have led people to resort to entertaining the theory Chuck explained.

He stated how it is reminiscent of the Sports Illustrated curse that emerged years ago. It claimed that any individual or team featured on the cover would lose their games or, worse, their career. There have been several instances, such as Alpine skier Jill Kinmont, who was featured on the SI cover in January 1995 and later suffered a spinal cord injury in the same month. However, there were also athletes who broke the curse, such as Emmitt Smith.

While there is no concrete evidence of such happenings due to Barkley’s podcast, if the host himself believes so, there might be something to it. However, it might take some time for people to regain their faith. Fans have also tried to drag Barkley into the conversation after Harris’ loss, but the basketball legend gracefully handled the chaos.

Charles Barkley addressed the presidential results

Be it sports related or political, Charles Barkley has always presented his stance on the matter clearly for people. Chuck has always mentioned that he would never vote for Trump. He once even threatened to punch those who did.

Addressing his comments later, he clarified, “Obviously, I’m not going to go around punching random strangers in the face – first and foremost. Secondly, people can vote for who they want to. People can vote for who they want to.”

Speaking about the current happenings, he emphasized that he doesn’t support any hateful behavior from any group. And he won’t criticize the newly elected president. I don’t think everybody who voted for Trump is racist or whatever. I’m not a fan of the guy but he’s the president, I’m going have to respect the office,” Barkley said on his podcast. Do you think that the podcast is suffering from a curse?
