The Boston Celtics are down 37 points at halftime, and netizens continue to blame Charles Barkley for it. In a battle against the Milwaukee Bucks, the entire Celtics roster have underperformed so far. Although they are at the top of the table, the Bucks are shooting the lights out, and it is too much for Boston to take.

However, fans believe Barkley is the sole reason for this sudden malfunction. Why so? Well, the Philadelphia 76ers legend shared before the game, “Listen, no disrespect to the champion Nuggets or the LA Clippers…There’s nobody in the NBA on the level with the Celtics right now. They are the best team, I think they are the best team by far.”

Although he might not have been wrong, the Celtics proceeded to lose the game by 33 points, with their largest deficit at 40 points. Shaquille O’Neal predicted the Bucks to win by double digits and that they would demolish the table toppers. However, Barkley was adamant and very sure that the Celtics will not disappoint him. Sadly, his curse did not leave them.

Sir Charles is known for his infamous “guarantees”. Particularly, for them tending to not pan out. Just last season, Chuck vouched for the Kings to overcome Golden State in round 1 of the playoffs. That was when Kings fans knew that it wouldn’t be their year. Similarly, some of the Celtics faithful have taken to Twitter to hark back at Barkley.

The Celtics shot a poor 37% from the field, while the Bucks neared 60%. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard had their own show as well. Bobby Portis was the X-factor in this game as he secured 28 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

This is not the first time Barkley has done something like this. The NBA legend previously chose the Miami Heat to win the NBA finals, and the Denver Nuggets brought home their first championship last season.

The curse is so real that the Celtics, who have shot excellently outside the line, made only one three-pointer until halftime today. Their field goal percentage was at an embarrassing 5% halfway through the game.
