Charles Barkley‘s latest show ‘King Charles‘ on CNN, with famous host Gayle King, brought in a special guest from the Golden State Warriors yesterday. The head coach of the famous organization, Steve Kerr, was roped in as the first guest of the show and Gayle King took this as an opportunity to put Barkley on the spot for one of his recent criticisms of the Warriors.

King was crediting Kerr for his legendary career, “Many people who play under you have nothing but great positive things to say,” and she suddenly switched, “But I saw a comment about the game last night Charles”. Well, the Philadelphia 76ers legend was blank. Steve Kerr smirked, but Barkley said, “They were old”. Barkley went on to credit the Warriors coach too.

He said, “Listen, this is nothing personal, with the amount of success that the Warriors have had, Draymond, Klay, Steph. Like people don’t understand. The NBA playoffs is like a two-month marathon and they have had so much success…Two years ago I said it’s going to come down to the young guys on the Warriors.” Even before Barkley could finish, King chimed in, “Yeah, but didn’t you make a comment on the Warriors last night?”

King went on to ask Steve Kerr if he heard the criticism Barkley made, but the head coach was not aware of it. However, he mentioned, “I did not see it, but I’m okay with it. I’m used to Charles’s comments”. Barkley replied, “Hey Steve, don’t believe everything you read on the internet”, and Kerr couldn’t control his laughter.

Well, Barkley was right. He did not make any comments about the Warriors in the last two days. But, he has definitely criticized them for their performance this season.

Charles Barkley believes the Warriors are “cooked” this season

Right at the start of the season, Barkley shared on  Inside the NBA that the Warriors are “cooked”. It was too early to tell, but then when the Warriors lost an 18-point lead to the Denver Nuggets on January 5, Barkley reaffirmed it. The Denver Nuggets went on a 25-4 run to finish the game 127-130. Most importantly, Nikola Jokic hit a half-court buzzer-beater with less than three seconds remaining, which led Barkley to mock the Warriors.

He shared again on live TV, “You know when I said the first night that this team is cooked, they were cooked, and they still are”. Barkley also boldly claimed that the Warriors will not make the playoffs. Well, it’s safe to say Barkley holds the same narrative as the Warriors are fighting to make it to the play-in. Anyhow, there are no recent criticisms from Barkley. The last was on January 5.
