Leave it to Sir Charles to turn an emergency into a jibe. Charles Barkley is once again taking a dig at the Warriors roster by improvising over an unexpected situation. He’s doubling down on his recent criticism regarding the future of Golden State. He’s not sure if the current team has the tenacity to keep the dynasty going. And his critiques might have a point.

The Golden State Warriors tasted a disappointing loss in their first game of the regular season. Which brings to question if Barkley is right about how the team is progressing.

A situation broke out during the Warriors – Suns game that started the NBA regular season of 2023-24. An elderly lady suffered a health scare that caught the players’ attention. Specifics on what happened to the woman are still obscure. Staff escorted her off the court safely as the game continued on.

In his cozy broadcasting booth, Charles Barkley took this chance to take a jab at the Golden State Warriors. He remarked, “That lady is about the same age as the Warriors starters.” It’s not an NBA on TNT coverage without Barkley’s taunts at the Dubs.

And he’s been after the aging team for a while now. As his predictions came through, Barkley’s former team, the Phoenix Suns, edged out the Warriors 108-104. Interestingly, the tide turned after the elderly woman was escorted out of the game.

Ahead of this game, Chuck had commented on the average age of the Warriors roster. The six standouts of the team are all above 30 years. For the 1993 NBA MVP, he’s not sure how the team is going to progress with them going forward.

This is Chris Paul’s first season in the Golden State jersey. The 38-year-old was one of the players watching over the old lady till help arrived. He might be older but it’s largely acknowledged that CP3 has enough playing years left.

Since his arrival, Stephen Curry at 35 is not the oldest player on the roster. Physically, he’s still in his prime and retirement is far from the horizon for The Chef.

For a long time, Barkley has been after Curry&Co. on various matters, whether it’s their trade decisions or Dub nation as a whole.

His take on their age is only the latest in his commentary on them. He opened Inside the NBA this season by ranking the Warriors as the worst team in California after the Lakers, Kings, and Clippers.

Old people don’t get better, they just get older. I just don’t like their team going forward,” Barkley explained his reasons on the show.
