There’s nothing more fun than watching two talented minds collide. Rookies Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren showcased stunning performances as they battled against each other for the third time this season. And the excitement is evident among fans and former players. After Thursday night’s battle, Kevin Garnett is thrilled at the prospect of watching more of them.

Taking to his X account, the Big Ticket revealed that he would be thrilled if a matchup between Wembanyama and Holmgren were to happen in the postseason. He wrote, “Chet vs. Wemby in a future Western Conference Finals gonna be CRACKIN!”

Wembanyama’s exceptional skill set was on full display as he played alongside Devin Vassell to lead the Spurs to a 132-118 over the Thunder. Wembanyama scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. In fact, he became the first player in NBA history to record 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 5+ blocks, and 5+ 3PM in a game. However, that shouldn’t take away from the fact that even his rival had a good performance.

Holmgren was no less than stunning as he dished out 23 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds playing 33 minutes in the game. The two rising stars are the most promising players in the Rookie of the Year race. Understandably, their third matchup created immense anticipation and tension among the fans.  And considering how each matchup has gone so far, fans will be looking for more.

Victor Wembanyama’s previous matchups with Chet Holmgren

The two battled against each other for the time back in October, last year. Holmgren recorded 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist, to propel the Oklahoma City Thunder to victory. While on the other hand, Wemby finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block. The French basketball player has shown terrific performance in his last few games forcing fans to lean in his favor for the Rookie of the Year award.

Even during their second matchup, the Thunder managed a comfortable 140-114 win over the Spurs. However, once again stealing the spotlight was the rookies’ rivalry sparking a frenzy among the fans and netizens. During their last battle,  Holmgren scored 17 points, along with 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks, while the San Antonio Spurs star had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
