Swaggy P is already looking at some restructuring in LA. The Clippers are down 1-2 after losing Game 3, 90-101 to Dallas. Meanwhile, the Lakers are one game away from suffering a second-consecutive sweep. So changes may be in order for the Los Angeles teams. Nick Young, who played alongside Kobe Bryant, thinks the Lakers would once more be championship contenders if they had that game-winning piece from the Clippers. Namely, Paul George.

He made his opinion known very succinctly on X after the Clippers game. “Pg to the Lakers championship.” Doesn’t get more fantastical than that.

PG-13 was underwhelming against the Mavericks today, adding only 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in 20 minutes. The struggles on the Clippers’ side were prominent with their best shot at winning, Kawhi Leonard, only scoring 9 points. It was James Harden who had one of his most productive games this season, making a rare double-digit 21 points.

They are, however, not getting the treatment the Lakers are. Since 2020, they haven’t looked like a team that would win the championship. They’ve lost 11 games in a row to the Nuggets. If they lose Game 4, their season ends. Among the trolling they’re getting, former Lakers pros, like Shaquille O’Neal and Nick Young hinted that the team is going to move around some pieces. “That’s just how they operate,” Shaq had said on The Big Podcast.

O’Neal left the Lakers after a three-peat, in his prime, leaving the leadership to Bryant. Swaggy P played under Bryant from 2013 to 2017, but wouldn’t win his only title until he went to the Warriors in the next season. Two seasons before he left LA, the Lakers’ record was not like it was during Bryant’s fifth championship. When he went to the Bay Area, he freed up cap space for the Lakers to add some stronger pieces. The Lakers acquired LeBron James in 2018 and they won in 2020. So does Young have a valid suggestion?

Nick Young’s hot Lakers takes

Swaggy P’s opinions are as wild as his on-court shenanigans. Before Russell Westbrook came to the Clippers, he was with the Lakers but Young controversially claimed that Russ was not at MVP level then. Despite the fact that Westbrook gave Young a hard time during his career. How he believes breaking Westbrook’s partnership with PG would benefit the Lakers is only his vision right now.

Maybe Young means George would be that locker room guy the Lakers could use. After this loss, he was reportedly giving the Clippers a pep-talk to pick up the slack for Leonard so they could tie the series in the next game.

Recently, he even posted a video on Instagram claiming his former teammate, D’Angelo Russell, might be getting the boot too. But his opinions are quite hard to absorb.
