Comparing Michael Jordan’s Grandson to “Alien”, Daughter Jasmine Expresses Wild Burst of Emotions: “I’m Stuck with You”

Michael Jordan‘ has been a fixture in the GOAT conversation for nearly 3 decades now. The winner of six NBA championships, five NBA MVP awards, and numerous other accolades, Jordan continues to remain one of the best players that the sport of basketball has seen, even 20 years after retirement. Whether it’s his exciting highlights, his collaborations as the owner of the Jordan brand or his personal life, MJ remains very relevant to American life.

One aspect of that is Jordan’s legacy as a family man. It’s been 4 years since the NBA Legend welcomed his first grandchild, Rakeem Michael Christmas. In order to give fans an insight into how the birthing process came to be, Michael’s daughter took center stage in an interview.

Jasmine Jordan is the youngest of the three children from the Chicago Bulls legend’s first marriage. She recently did an interview for “Birth Queen“, a nonprofit organization that provides educational resources for Black pregnant mothers. During the interview, Jasmine recalled some of the most important moments of her pregnancy, including her father’s reaction upon finding out that she was going to have a baby.

Jasmine recalled the moment she held her son for the very first time. She considered the “meanest side eye” that the baby gave her as a preview of what was to come next.

“It’s the crazy thing because it happened so fast,” said Jasmine when describing the aftermath of the birth. “I’m literally like holding this little alien looking baby and I’m just like wow.” 

Expressing her surprise over having a baby, Jasmine recalled thinking “I created you. I’m stuck with you.

While her husband was in deep sleep, Jasmine was wide awake and kept looking at her son. She basked in the glory that one receives after attaining motherhood.

Jordan has been married twice and he shares 5 children from both of his marriages.

Jordan’s two sons, Jeffrey and Marcus, tried to follow in their father’s footsteps and joined professional basketball. In 2007, Jeffrey played as a preferred walk-on after he got admission at the University of Illinois in 2007. During the 2009-10 season, he transferred to UCF and played alongside his brother Marcus. However, in 2012, Jeffrey left basketball.

Jasmine met her future husband while she was studying sports management at Syracuse University. She currently works in the sports apparel industry, looking to create a legacy that will lead people to differentiate her from her father.

Jordan divorced his first wife, Juanita Vanoy, back in 2006. She received a divorce settlement of $168 million. This is considered to be one of the largest settlements to this date. Jordan married his girlfriend and model, Yvette Prieto, in 2013 and had identical twin daughters two years later.

As a player, Michael Jordan was godlike. Despite being the GOAT on the hardwood, it’s nice to see MJ’s human side. It helps us feel more connected with the individual.
