Having a big man on your team has always been advantageous. While there have been several big men throughout the rich history of the league, no one has been as flamboyant and effective as Shaquille O’Neal. The 4x NBA champion is still regarded as the most dominant big man to ever play the game.

The memories of the NBA’s favorite Big Man were recently refreshed by Peyton Marshall. The Cold Hearts center’s audacious block on Daquan Davis of the RWE was something to marvel at. At the same time, it reminded fans of the classic Shaq that they witnessed for so many years.

As Davis was cruising toward the paint during the last minutes of the 3rd quarter, Marshall came in just in time to steal the show. The 400-pound center not only snatched the ball from him but also sent Davis to the floor. Just to top it all off, while Davis was still on the floor, comprehending what just happened, Marshall added another layer of disrespect by throwing the ball at him. This became an instant hit on the internet as fans marveled at Marshall’s rude block and then rubbing it in his opponent’s face.

After Marshall’s block, the commentators could be heard saying, “That’s one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in a basketball game.” There was something very familiar in that play by Marshall. Hoop fans still remember what it was like witnessing the mighty Shaq take center stage. When Shaq was with the Orlando Magic his breaking the backboard was just another example of his style of hooping, which was very charged, aggressive, and was more about making a statement.

This caused havoc in the league and even forced the people in the upper management to bring some changes. In the ’90s, assistant NBA commissioner Rod Thorn said, “We’re going to make sure that all of the equipment is up to snuff. Whether it was Shaquille O’Neal or someone else, with the size of these guys, it was just a matter of time. He just happened to be a little bigger and stronger than most.”

As of now, the Cold Hearts center has all eyes on him, all he needs is to bank on this attention for a better career prospect.
