From his amusing rants, comments, and anecdotes on a wide range of subjects, we can glean that Charles Barkley knows a little bit about everything. The most recent topic he has tackled is outer space beings, something that makes even the best astronomers pull on their hair. However, as we know, Sir Charles is built different.

On the recent episode of his new show King Charles, famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson was a guest. Tyson is most known for popularizing astrophysics, breaking down complex concepts, and having a nuanced take on the possibility of extraterrestrial life. However, is he more conceptually clear than Sir Charles? Apparently not.

Charles Barkley imparts wisdom to Neil deGrasse Tyson

The interesting question, “Do you believe in aliens?” was asked on the show. The first response came in from Barkley. He said, “No. ’cause I haven’t seen one.” Now although this is a valid take, Tyson disagreed with the NBA veteran in a heartbeat. He said that one might not have seen anything, but that shouldn’t stop the person from believing in it. While Chuck’s co-host agreed with Tyson, Sir Charles is cut from a different cloth. As per his belief, if no one has seen an alien either, and we do not have a shred of concrete evidence, how is he supposed to believe it’s true?

Barkley would then go on to spew some serious truth on his guest. He started off by saying that it was an honor and a privilege to meet him showing some respect to the 65-year-old. Barkley then proceeded to say, “If we had a person coming in here who met an alien, we wouldn’t have you on the show”. This is not even the most brutal response we have seen coming in from the Round Mound of Rebound, but it did send Tyson on the back foot.

Shaquille O’Neal has seen an alien?

While Sir Charles is an outsider when it comes to the concept of outer space beings, his good friend Shaquille O’Neal claims to have seen an actual alien, (well not really). During an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show, the Big Man was asked for his take on UFOs and he had the most Shaq response for it.

Bringing in his brother from another mother into the mix, Shaq hilariously quipped, “I definitely believe in UFOs because Charles Barkley looks like an alien.”

Whatever your opinion on aliens might be, make sure you don’t ask Sir Charles about it if you haven’t seen one yet.
