Kevin Hart invited his friend and one of the bests of the NBA world Anthony for his show, ‘Gold Minds’ on Sirius XM. As Melo shared several insights on his career and life, Hart asked an intriguing question to him about James.

Carmelo Anthony found a brother in LeBron James

It seems like Melo couldn’t resist diving into the intriguing dynamics of their relationship. Much to fans’ interest, Hart asked the 39-year-old if there was any initial tension between the two basketball legends.

As he probed more about it, Anthony fondly recalled, “It wasn’t ‘f**k you’. It was just more like, ‘damn, I am watching you, I have seen you, I have heard about you’…Then we played each other at Oak Hill in Jersey All-Star weekend I was in Philly.

He added, “We found it. I was looking for a brother.…and he was looking for somebody like that…We just coming together, it is like a movie. We sat at the top of the steps for three hours and started talking about sh*t.”

According to sources, their initial substantial conversation can be traced back to the year 2002. They formed a close friendship during their time at Oak Hill Academy. However, their first encounter actually took place at a USA developmental camp in 2001. They were both searching for a brother and, to the joy of fans, they found that in each other.

Both of them were part of the 2003 NBA draft and were the top players of their class. Carmelo Anthony was selected as the third overall pick by the Denver Nuggets, while James, as the first pick, joined the Cleveland Cavaliers. Interestingly, it appears that their sons are now following in their father’s footsteps to join the NBA.
