There is also an unfortunate parallel between the NBA and the NFL. Poor officiating has been a major issue that is being reported in both the leagues. However, Johnson might be willing to ignore the officiating part, as he believes it is their coach who is responsible for this loss.

Johnson wrote, “Dan Campbell acting like he is on meltdown at a black Jack Table. @Lions He made this game about his stubbornness and not trusting they could win in overtime.” The NBA veteran didn’t stop there, as he then went on to argue with some fans who responded to his post. One fan responded to Johnson saying that Campbell wasn’t wrong, but it is the refs who ended up taking the game away from the Lions.

The fan wrote, “Turns out he made the right choice. Ref cost them that game”. But Johnson remained strong in his stance as he replied saying, “What about the 2nd choice? Where u asleep when he did it again?”. With 23 seconds remaining, the Lions attempted a 2-point conversion that would have given Taylor Decker a score, but an illegal touching penalty negated the play. Following that, three Lions linemen, including Decker, approached referee Brad Allen and appeared to say something.

Decker wasn’t announced as an eligible receiver, which meant that the go-ahead 2-point play wasn’t legitimate and the score had to be taken off the board. This was followed by Campbell blasting the officials and from there, it was pretty much a closed game for the Lions. If the two points were dubbed legitimate, that would have given the Lions a much-needed edge and they would have ended up with a one-point lead with only a few seconds left on the clock.

However, it didn’t go as planned and the Cowboys took the game away by 20-19. Regardless of this loss, the Lions are still at the top of the NFC North table with an 11-5 record. Johnson’s back and forth with the fans didn’t stop on X. When another fan said that the Lions actually won the game, the refs are the reason the record shows otherwise. He said, “But when they blew it waterboy. You try it again ? Stoop”.
