While LeBron James stayed off the court to aid his sore left ankle on Friday night, the Lakers set the Crypto.com Arena floor on fire. Building on his recent great performances, D’Angelo Russell had a game that not only brought victory home but also became the highlight of the night. His Lakers career-high 44 points against the Milwaukee Bucks took all the attention away from the injured King James. The amazing performance got multiple mentions but one by the 3x All-Star Gilbert Arenas stands atop any other.

Arenas used the epic clip from ‘The Wire’ series to express his first thoughts after the win. He tweeted a reel on his X account where Idris Elba’s character Stringer Bell delivers the famous dialogue, “Are you ready to put the work in?” He also captioned the tweet, “What LeBron told D’Lo before the Bucks game.”

When is the King returning to reign?

LeBron James has missed 9 games this season due to his left ankle injury. While he has already spoken about it as not a major issue, his on-and-off presence on the floor is becoming a worry for the Lakers fans. Although he is performing his best, as he grabbed 31 points and delivered 13 assists in the last game against Sacramento, the loyalists wish him to be on the court.

Previously, Davis also mentioned that the Lakers can hop back up even if Bron needs the break after their loss to the Kings. Fortunately for the Lakers devotees, they have won against the Bucks. Interestingly, the Lakers are now 5-4 in the games James hasn’t played this season.

Nevertheless, as James said, it is just a wear and tear trouble and should be fine soon. But until then, we can celebrate the Lakers and D’Lo for the amazing performance. What are your thoughts on this?
