Shots have been fired and the NBA world is on edge. Just when we thought trade talks surrounding James Harden were thawed, ‘The Beard’ made some astounding allegations. This came after Harden was supposedly staying on the Philadelphia 76ers roster. But Harden would slam the franchise president and declare otherwise. This naturally caused a huge stir in NBA circles.

This row has even caught the attention of one NBA legend. Shaquille O’Neal is an ‘Inside Guy.’ Nothing escapes his attention. And he has taken note of this drama.

Shaquille O’Neal watches James Harden drama on the sidelines

James Harden’s discontent with the Sixers is boiling over. He didn’t shy from expressing it during an off-season event for his personal business venture. ‘The Beard’ this time directly took a shot at 76ers president, Daryl Morey. He called Daryl Morey “a liar” and said he wouldn’t be a part of the franchise.

This instance has also caught Shaquille O’Neal. He hasn’t involved himself in the drama, nor has he commented on this latest development. What he did do is share it with his 30 million Instagram followers.

He shared a post from another page on his Stories which included a clip of Harden making the contentious comment. Shaq hasn’t reacted to it either.

Fans have reacted plenty on his behalf. They mostly want to know why Harden called the Sixers boss a liar and if O’Neal has any details about it.

However, O’Neal is still a neutral party on this matter. He has not attempted to influence Harden’s trade discussions in any way. This was merely O’Neal sharing the biggest incident in the NBA world currently with his followers.

James Harden slams Sixers President

The accomplished NBA pro’s relationship with Morey goes back to 2012, when Harden signed with the Houston Rockets. In 2021, they parted ways when Harden went to the Brooklyn Nets and reunited when he came to the 76ers in 2022.

They were said to have a close relationship. But that has changed to the point of no return in 2023. It happened after it was announced that the franchise has stopped looking to trade Harden because of a lack of good deals.

While in China to promote his wine business, the disgruntled Harden bashed the decision. “Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be part of an organization that he’s a part of in the NBA.” It appears that even if the Sixers don’t want to trade him, Harden won’t return to the team on his own volition.

Fans and analysts speculate that Harden is upset that Morey won’t give him the maximum level contract. But the bitter feelings seem to run deeper than just the trade talks. Only time will tell what’s next for ‘The Beard.’
