Isiah Thomas was one NBA’s most popular players in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. His ability to dribble past players combined with his exceptional leadership qualities catapulted him to NBA greatness. Despite being tagged as the ‘bad boys’ of the NBA, under his leadership, the Detroit Pistons squad won 2 NBA Championships in 1988 and 1990. He was also named the Finals MVP in Detroit’s second championship run (1990).

However, in a resurfaced video, the Piston legend’s ‘embarrassing’ 1990 stint was recently brought to light.

His team’s playing style (extremely physical) also added to Isiah Thomas’s ‘media personality’. However, only after many years did people realize that Isiah Thomas was not actually a ‘bad’ guy.

He was a social rights activist who used his position in society to voice his opinion and spread awareness about racial integration and continues to do so today. He was also an extremely talented basketball player. Despite being an unselfish basketball player, he was able to be the Detroit Pistons’ leading all-time scorer in points, assists, steals, and games played.
