But in 1999, the Los Angeles Lakers decided to go all in. With hopes of pushing for a championship with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant on their team, they brought in new members, the first of whom was Dennis Rodman, who had just won three championships with the Bulls.

Although Rodman was brought in to be a key player, he did not last long on the team. According to Rodman, during his time there, he also developed a romantic relationship with Jeanie Buss, the daughter of Jerry Buss.

Dennis Rodman claims he dated Jeanie Buss

Dennis Rodman has never held back from saying anything that was on his mind. He revealed in an interview with VladTV that he dated Jeanie Buss when he was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rodman, in another instance, said that they both dated for six months, even though he only played on the team for 23 games. He said that Jeanie used to invite him for dinner and drinks.

Dennis knew Jeanie from way back when she modeled for Playboy. Rodman recalls meeting Jeanie in her penthouse and spending quality time with her. So according to Rodman, the two ‘dated’ for six months, but Jeanie viewed it as something else.

Jeanie Buss was a ‘babysitter’ for Dennis Rodman

During an interview with Graham Bensinger, Jeanie Buss was asked about her time dating Dennis Rodman. She instantly replied, “I did not date Dennis Rodman.” So Graham specified that Rodman himself has said that they dated back in 1999.

So Jeanie explained that Jerry Buss brought Rodman to the Lakers back in 1999, and he knew how Rodman was as a person, that is, that he was a notorious partier. He was worried about where Rodman would be most nights, so he asked Jeanie to monitor him.
