As Kiyan embarks on his journey towards an NBA career, his star dad has taken a surprising step to support him. By flagging off his son’s lifelong dream, Carmelo Anthony is setting the stage for an unexpected twist. Determined to see his son’s dreams come true, the elder Anthony has gone so far as to arrange for Kiyan to train with none other than Paul George, the NBA star whom Kiyan considers his idol.

Kiyan and George have one thing in common – they’re both shooting guards. Anthony, on his podcast 7PM with Brooklyn, shared his motive behind sending his son to train with Paul George. “I want you to go learn from PG on certain sh*t, That wasn’t my game. I’m not gonna even try to teach you that sh*t,” Melo remarked, emphasizing the unique opportunity Kiyan has, to learn from one of the best.

Melo’s decision shows his commitment to his son’s development, highlighting his willingness to set aside personal pride for Kiyan’s NBA future. Anthony himself was a team player and knew the importance of working out alongside players who possessed the same skill set. Sending his son to train with Paul George demonstrates his strategic thinking in Kiyan’s development, focusing on targeted skill enhancement.

During an old interaction with George, Carmelo Anthony had personally thanked him for inspiring his son, as he told PG, “I do want to give you your flowers and say thank you for inspiring him. That’s big. So I want to thank you, champ, for inspiring my son to be happy, say ‘PG in the house all f*****ng day, all night.’ Thank you for that… We made this happen for a reason.”

Paul George, in the meantime, has made a move to the Philadelphia 76ers after five seasons with the LA Clippers.
