Shaquille O’Neal is rooting for the 2019 NBA Draft’s 1st pick

O’Neal believes he is the most powerful center in NBA history. Also at the same time, he believes Zion Williamson is more explosive than him. The young star has not been consistent enough due to major injuries. Williamson played only 24 games in his first season and only 29 games last year, due to his injury-prone legs. Making complete use of the off-season though, the 23-year-old has not only reduced weight but also looks jacked for the new season.

The 4-time champion revealed,?“When I start losing weight, getting thin, I would get injured more from contact but when I was big and looked out of shape, I was in charge.”?Well, Williamson has lost weight and is injury-prone as well. That does instill fear.?

Regardless,?Big Diesel?still believes in Zion. He promoted his new “jacked” look by re-sharing some media from the Pelicans’ media day to his Instagram story.?

The stats of Williamson are indeed impressive, but at the same time, his absence is very concerning.

Initially, as a power forward, he has now taken the bigger responsibility of occasionally playing at center. This means more physicality and more risk of injury. Yet, Williamson is confident. During the media day ahead of preseason, Williamson kept it simple, “the best is still yet to come.”

The hopes are high, and so is the fear, but Williamson has a chance to change his career in the upcoming season.?
