With the Detroit Pistons suffering from a demoralizing record to their name, they’re working hard for redemption. They led the first three-quarters of the game against the Boston Celtics. No one expected that the Pistons would lead 66-47 by halftime. It prompted Howard to say, “Them pistons ain’t come to play tonight.” Let’s hope redemption is on the cards tonight.

Howard may have jinxed it. The Pistons lost 128-122 to one of the strongest teams this season. They’re now tied with the 76ers for the longest losing streak with 28 games. But the Sixers have that dubious record across two seasons while the Pistons have managed it in one season that’s far from over.

Regardless, fans are still amazed at how they managed to pull a near miracle. They led the game into overtime and scored 14 points. Cade Cunningham led the team with 31 points across 43 minutes. Whoever tuned into the game expecting to crack jokes at the Pistons’ expense was at the edge of their seats in the nail-biter. Until overtime, naysayers had their fingers crossed they’d get a cinematic turnaround by this team.

However, they were unable to halt the losing streak record. Dwight Howard’s remarks on them couldn’t come at a worse time.

Dwight Howard wants to save the Pistons

Howard hasn’t played in the NBA since 2022. But he teased the idea of suiting up for the Pistons. “How bout them Pistons…” he wrote on X. “You know who would win them some games lol.”  He named a starting lineup and included himself in it. He’s been spending his time on X creating several fantasy team lineups lately.

Fans didn’t take the joke lightly. They ripped the idea to shreds, claiming Howard would make one of the worst teams in the NBA right now even worse.
