Shaquille O’Neal seems to have been deceived by false news. Misinformation surrounding Devin Booker‘s perspective on his Nike signature sneakers launch has stirred enough confusion among fans recently. It stemmed from a news update by Complex Sneakers, suggesting Booker’s dissatisfaction with how Nike handled the launch. Following this, fans saw the Reebok President of Basketball offer a deal to Booker to join the Reebok family. After much speculation by netizens, the 3x NBA All-Star finally opened up on it on his Instagram.

He clarified the confusion for his 5.5 million followers by resharing a meme based on the situation that was captioned, “When Complex creates a fake narrative about you and now Shaq is recruiting you to Reebok,” on his Instagram Stories with a couple of laughing emojis at the bottom.

The post was in response to O’Neal’s offer. Not just fans, but the fake narrative also mistakenly caught the Los Angeles Lakers legend. Taking to his Instagram, Shaq had pitched his offer to the 25-year-old last night. This was after the article released by Complex. He directly addressed the issue with Booker’s signature shoe launch and asked him to join Reebok. Booker wasn’t the only superstar athlete the Big Aristotle was trying to recruit, though.

Following the Baltimore Ravens win over the Houston Texans in the NFL Divisional Round, O’Neal also tried to entice star WR Odell Beckham Jr. to join Reebok. Furthermore, he also stated how Reebok’s division is about to get even more compelling as they kick off a new chapter. However, it seems like Booker is going nowhere anytime soon.

Why won’t Devin Booker accept Shaquille O’Neal’s Reebok offer?

Back in 2018, the Phoenix Suns star sealed a monumental deal with Nike, worth an impressive $50 million. This partnership might have the player collaborate with the brand until 2029. In an interview some time ago, he revealed how he was excited about the launch of his first-ever signature shoes for which he has been “bugging” the company for 3 years. Furthermore, his dreams and career are intertwined with the Swoosh logo.

It is this brand that saw an iconic partnership with Booker’s idol, Kobe Bryant. The shoes that have caused the ruckus among fans, Nike Book 1, are also inspired by his idol Bryant. For the worried fans, the player is likely to stay with the brand for at least 5 more years to create some more spectacular collaborations and creations. What are your thoughts?
