Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen will always have their name written together in the basketball history books. Their dominant run with the Chicago Bulls in the 90s is something we might never get to witness again. However, the dynamic duo has a poor relationship now and there are no signs of reconciliation.

Although Stephen Jackson recently made an emotional plea to MJ and Pippen, way too much has happened for everything to be over in an instant.

In addition to that, Matt Barnes doesn’t believe that Jordan would want to repair his relationship with his ex-teammate. Jackson said, “I want Scottie and MJ to fix that. I think it’s important for them to respect each other and have a relationship for what they have done for the game. You can’t think about Mike without Scottie. You can’t think about Scottie without Mike”. The NBA veteran thinks that these two being on good terms will be the best thing for the sport and their legacy. “We don’t know all of it, but we know where it should be. The brotherhood, where it should be with Mike and Pip. Hopefully, they can come back and fix their relationship because I think the world wanna see that one,” he added.

Barnes was quick to remind Jackson that MJ probably doesn’t care about repairing their relationship. He said, “I agree but I think the cold part is Jack, that I don’t really think Mike gives a f**k.”

A short timeline of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen’s feud

This ‘beef’ between the two legends of the game has largely been one-sided, with Pippen taking most of the shots. However, his frustration stems from his opinion that he was misrepresented in The Last Dance. Although that is not the root of their feud, things have escalated from there. There was a time when MJ said that he couldn’t have won 6 championships with the Bulls if it weren’t for Pippen. After that, we have seen Pippen calling Jordan selfish and a ‘horrible player’.

The Bulls legend also took shots at MJ in his memoir referring to The Last Dance snub. He said, “They glorified Michael Jordan while not giving nearly enough praise to me and my proud teammates. Michael deserved a large portion of the blame. The producers had granted him editorial control of the final product.” MJ’s son dating Pippen’s ex-wife didn’t help their case either. Is it too late for them to repair their relationship? Maybe, maybe not. But it is only up to the two of them to make the effort.
