It’s been quite some time, but people haven’t stopped hyping up Kendrick Lamar’s viral song, Not Like Us. Needless to mention the Drake vs. Lamar feud that brought more attention. And every time one starts to get over the song, a new stir revives the obsession. As Drake’s lawsuit against UMG has started another wave, Carmelo Anthony shares his take on the rapper’s motives.
On the latest episode of 7PM in Brooklyn, Melo and the squad discussed the latest lawsuit. When the Knicks legend was asked about it, Melo seemingly suspected that the rapper might have had a motive. “I think Drake is trying to send a message top level like he trying to look at this from a whole another level right and I think the timing of it is bad,” Melo said.
However, Melo later clarified that there could be other reasons such as loss in sales or harm to reputation that could have influenced him and he isn’t aware of all that. “But again we don’t know what the f–k the lawsuit is. I don’t know what the f–k it could. It could be somebody with his team like yo man look these are the numbers this is how you’ve been affected this is what’s going on this is how much you lost right?”

More details about the lawsuit was discussed in the episode. A new drama emerged when Drake sued Universal Music and Spotify for allegedly supporting Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” Rather than Kendrick himself, the rapper sued the company. As per sources, in the lawsuit, Drake claimed that the huge promotions of the song and its immense popularity caused damage.

The TNT crew isn’t afraid of a lawsuit
Kendrick did not stop with “Not Like Us”. His song “TV Off” from the GNX album quickly went viral after its launch. The part from the track featured in nearly every video is Lamar giving a shoutout to DJ Mustard by actually shouting his name in the middle of the song.
That has enticed the TNT crew as well. Back in November, the Suns vs. Lakers halftime show was kicked off with O’Neal’s Mustard chant. The TNT crew had taken quite a liking to that particular part of the song, as they continued to joke with references to it.
