If you put Charles Barkley and Draymond Green next to each other, the discussion about San Francisco was bound to come up. While they were hyping Indiana Pacers legend, Reggie Miller’s return to his old stomping grounds, Green ribbed him about it. Barkley turned it on his other frenemy and the city he’s repping.

After Green, who’s done with Indiana weather, told Miller, “Reggie, we love you, let’s not have another All-Star in Indiana,” Barkley took his chance to revive his old beef with San Francisco. He started by asking Miller, “If you had a chance of being in the cold or be around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco, which one would you take?” Before he reached the end of that question, it was obvious it was a jab at the Dubs star at the table.

Barkley said, “You can’t even walk around down there,” which Green countered with, “You’re not welcome” and “You can walk around.” That’s when Chuck argued that’s possible only with a “bulletproof vest.” That just led Green from taking jabs at the Sixers legend’s old city of Philadelphia.

The Golden State Warriors and San Francisco will host the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. If Barkley is still at TNT (because he likes to hint at a retirement a lot), he will have to go there and face the locals he’s been feuding with for years. This brings back memories of the 2022 Western Conference Finals when rains had delayed Game 4 and caused the Dallas arena roof to leak.

Barkley, once more at the TNT desk, was lamenting that they were not in San Francisco because it was not raining there. He called it a “hellhole” in 2013, but he’s also taken a jab at the hometown team. He especially ranked Green’s team last among the NBA teams in California and called them “cooked.”

San Francisco also doesn’t take it lying down. Recently, Barkley debuted some questionable eyewear on Inside the NBA apparently inspired by his best friend, Shaquille O’Neal’s style. Bay Area residents roasted his giant bifocals, questioning if he’s got a clearer view of San Francisco’s beauty through those glasses now.

As dramatic as Barkley’s love-hate relationship with San Francisco is, his entire exchange with Green was the highlight of the All-Star Game. Fans, who were critical about the lack of entertainment in the actual game, enjoyed Chuck and DrayMagic’s banter the most. Fingers crossed, Barkley is on Green’s turf for the 2025 All-Star Game.
