The NBA fans recently saw a brawl take place in the middle of the court. Although fights are not uncommon during games, as athletes get into the heat of the moment, what Draymond Green did was certainly rare. He was immediately ejected from the game and was also put on suspension by the league.

However, this is not the first time that Green has been caught up in a fight, often initiating them. He has had a long history of such incidents and has lost millions because of fines. Recently, one of Green’s victims commented on his recent brawl with Rudy Gobert. In fact, this Boston Celtics legend wondered whether the league is afraid of the 33-year-old.

The Golden State Warriors star has been in so many altercations that minor trash talk seems like child play. Athletes getting into a fight seems to be becoming a regular event and is, in some cases, understandable. This is due to the fact that they start to feel the pressure of the situation and snap in the moment because they can’t figure a way out. However, for Green’s recent fight, it wasn’t even his fight, as he was standing up for his teammate Klay Thompson. The scary visuals being live-streamed immediately went viral and were a talking point for fans across the world.

Adding his thoughts to the controversy, Paul Pierce came in with a narrative that doesn’t sound too far-fetched. Pierce has been on the receiving end of Green’s ferocious nature on the court. Taking a jibe at Pierce during a game, Green had said “Chasing that Farewell Tour, They Don’t Love You Like That.” So for the Celtics legend to say anything, you’d best believe it’s coming out of his own experience.

Following Green’s fight, he tweeted “Everybody is this ERA scared of Draymond 😳😳😳😂😂😂”. This begs the question, are players actually afraid of the Warriors star?

Although it is understandable that no one will admit to actually being scared of Green, the long list of such events on Green’s resume are a testament to his behavior in court.

Draymond Green’s on-court brawl history

During the recent Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, an altercation took place that ended with Green grabbing Gobert by the neck which was dubbed “unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner” by the league. Following the event, Green was ejected and suspended for the next five games. In terms of fine, Green will bear a loss of $769,704 because of the suspension as his year’s salary stands at a massive $22.3 million. This will take Green’s career fines tally to over $2.2 million and his total number of suspensions to five.

Last season, he was suspended for three games after he stomped on the chest of Domantas Sabonis during a playoff game. In 2019, Green had another altercation with Gobert. Enraged at being mentioned in the same sentence as Gobert, Green said that they’re not alike and he shouldn’t be linked with Gobert. At the time, the 31-year-old was on a public rant about not being included in the All-Star team.

One of Green’s most infamous suspensions was in 2016 when he was suspended from game 5 of the NBA Finals. Another one that was completely out of the blue and a complete shocker was his fight with ex-teammate Jordan Poole. Last season, during a training session, things got heated between the two teammates. The physical altercation started with Poole shoving Green after a heated verbal spat. However, the 4x NBA champion ended it by punching Poole and after the footage surfaced on the internet, he has been caught up in a huge uproar.
