With the NBA regular season starting in less than two weeks, the Boston Celtics team seems to be in high spirits. Despite winning the Eastern Conference in 2022, the young Boston Celtics squad lost to the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals. In spite of Boston’s stellar performance in the regular season of the 2022-2023 NBA season, they lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals.

Former NBA champion and Boston Celtics legend, Kevin Garnett, shares a special moment on his social media.

Celtics Veterans’ 1v1 Battle

In Kevin Garnett’s Instagram story, the 7-foot NBA Hall of Famer posts a story of two Boston Celtics’ veterans competing in a 3-point contest against each other. The ‘Big Ticket’ mentions in his story, “Awwww…some things never change…just like old times.”.

The former Boston Celtics star was hit with nostalgia as two of his legendary teammates from 2008, Paul Pierce and Eddie House went against each other. Both of them showed off their smooth three-point jumpers. Their competitive spirit showed as neither of them wanted to lose.

Their love for the game, even after all these years, was so much that the former NBA stars automatically went into a competitive zone. The current Boston Celtics coach invited the veterans to inspire the current Boston Celtics team including star players like Jayson Tatum. Their competitive spirit was infectious as everyone in the Boston Celtics were smiling, seeing the two veterans face off.

In 2008, the Boston Celtics had one of the most dominant teams of all time. With Kevin Garnett (PF), Paul Pierce (SF), Ray Allen (SG), Rajan Rondo (PG) and Kendrick Perkins (C). They weren’t just the most skilled players in their positions, they were also the most vicious. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are widely considered as one of NBA’s all-time elite trash-talkers.

Despite reaching the Eastern Conference finals two years in a row, the current Boston Celtics team has not been able to win the coveted NBA Championship. The current Boston Celtics team’s starting five consists of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Marcus Smart, and Jrue Holiday.

With an impressive lineup for the upcoming 2023-2024 NBA regular season, the Boston Celtics will be finally looking to clinch their first NBA Championship since 2008.
